Mission Statement

Latinum Duet, founded in 2005 by Isaac Casal and Victor J. Soto, was created to perform and record master works written for cello and piano.  They strive to promote classical music through education and entertainment by providing the public music from classical composers to the music written by composers of our time.

In June 2005, Latinum Duet made its very first appearance at Florida State University - Panama, performing major works by Brahms, Schumann, Debussy, and Piazzolla.  In the future, the duo plans on performing these works for more audiences, as well expanding their existing repertoire.  They are also seeking funds and support in order to perform throughout the United States and abroad.

While the duo places a primary focus on playing classical works that contain innovative writing, the duo also pursues works from different composers, especially Latin-American composers, with diverse styles.  They search for works that will fulfill their mission of reaching a variety of audiences.

Future projects of Latinum Duet include an upcoming classical CD of works previously performed and a second CD featuring Panamanian folk music arranged by Victor J. Soto.
